On June 30, 2014, Ambassador Suzan LeVine visited the Swiss Landesmuseum in Zürich, where she met with Marco Castellaneta, Head of Museum Operations, Dr. Heidi Amrein, Head of Collections & Documentation and Pascale Meyer, who gave the Ambassador a tour of the museum. The Ambassador enjoyed the opportunity to not only hear more about Swiss culture and history, but also to learn about how the museum uses modern technology to present its exhibitions in new and innovative ways.
The Landesmuseum is one of the best-known museums in Switzerland. Its network, which combines the Landesmuseum, the Castle of Prangins, the Forum of Swiss History Schwyz and the Collection Center, constitutes the Swiss National Museums, which focuses on showcasing yesterday’s, today’s and tomorrow’s Swiss History and Culture.

The Landesmuseum has various special and permanent exhibitions, most prominent of which are the extensive Swiss history exhibition and the impressive miniature 3D-representation of the historical battle of Murten.
