Last month we hosted a “Benjamin Franklin Night” at the Ambassador’s Residence! The Benjamin Franklin Transatlantic Fellows Summer Institute (BFTF) is a 4-week program in the U.S. that aims to build links between Europeans and Americans. At the institute, participants discuss topics relating to transatlantic relations and diplomacy. There are a total of 10 U.S. Fellows and 45 European Fellows (aged 16-18) who take classes together, participate in seminars, and travel with the cultural program. This year’s program is happening at Purdue University in Indiana.
We received many excellent applications but could only nominate one candidate for BFTF. We were so impressed by all the applicants this year and wanted to invite all of them to see the Embassy residence grounds and interact with one another as a thank you. We were blown away by their intellect, enthusiasm, and passion on topics facing the U.S. and Europe today.
