On Monday, March 14th, Security Attaché Jeff Monroe spoke at the Swiss Transport Museum’s launch of the new IMAX movie Wild America. The film, created in honor of the 100th& anniversary of the National Parks Service, documents three nature lovers as they embark on a road trip across the U.S., taking in some of the country’s most breathtaking scenery. A former park ranger, Mr. Monroe shared how the parks system has contributed to the preservation of the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the U.S. He noted that both Switzerland and the U.S. have been staunch defenders of the importance of preserving our natural landscapes. Mr. Monroe also highlighted U.S. Government-sponsored programs that allow Swiss citizens to volunteer at U.S. national parks, such as the opportunities found at Volunteer.gov and the Student Conservation Association. Wild America will play at the Transport Museum throughout this year.
