On March 20, Chargé d’Affaires greeted Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin, South Dakota Governor Dennis Daugaard, Kentucky Secretary of Labor Derrick Ramsey, their delegation members as well National Governors Association officials, including President Scott Pattison, at a reception at the Embassy residence. Joining the state delegations were Swiss government officials and leaders in vocational education and training from the business community and academia. The event was part of a March 19-22 study visit to Switzerland organized through the National Governors Association to learn  how Switzerland’s apprenticeship model can provide ideas and best practices for building globally competitive workforce and economic development initiatives in U.S. states. The delegation’s itinerary included visits to libs, ABB, Swisscom and other Swiss companies and entities involved with apprenticeship initiatives.

The study visit was made possible with the partnership of the U.S. Embassy, Presence Switzerland, SERI, SFIVET, and the Swiss Embassy in DC.
