On April 26, Chargé d’Affaires Tara Erath greeted an investment delegation with the European American Investment Council and officials from the Economic Development Agencies of Greater Peoria, IL; Battle Creek, MI; Carroll County, GA; Longview, TX; Auglaize County, OH and Duke Energy as well a distinguished group of Swiss business leaders from a wide range of industries. They gathered at the prestigious “Haus zum Rüden” in Zurich. In her opening remarks, Chargé Erath highlighted the counties as examples of the United States’ diverse regional markets, favorable demographics, friendly business environment, excellent geographic location and skilled workforce. Chargé Erath also highlighted Swiss companies’ substantial overall U.S. investment footprint, noting that Switzerland is the 7th largest foreign investor in the U.S. and provides jobs for nearly 500,000 people. She pointed out that there has never been a better time to invest in the U.S.’s vast domestic market given its transparent business environment and unparalleled climate for innovation.
