On March 13, 2020 the Federal Council provided the following information:
- With immediate effect, Switzerland is temporarily reintroducing border controls at all of its borders. U.S. citizens entering Switzerland will have to present a valid U.S. passport.
- The Federal Council recommends that the public, particularly people over 65 years of age and anyone showing symptoms of illness, avoid taking public transportation.
