Eva Weigold Schultz began her assignment in Bern in August 2019. Previously, she served in the Office of the Secretary of State as Deputy Executive Secretary where she managed the flow of information to the Secretary for policy decisions, and led planning for the Secretary’s international travel.
Ms. Weigold Schultz is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service. Prior assignments in Washington include Executive Assistant to the Under Secretary for Democracy and Global Affairs, Deputy Director for the Office of the Arabian Peninsula in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, Executive Director of the U.S.-Afghan Women’s Council (while on detail to Georgetown University), and Director for Andean Affairs at the National Security Council. Overseas assignments include Tel Aviv, Dublin, Frankfurt, and Kingston.
