We are pleased to announce the official re-opening of the Consular Agency in Geneva on Thursday, April 26, 2018. Currently, more than 40,000 U.S. citizens reside in Switzerland, and Swiss authorities estimate over one million U.S. tourists visit Switzerland each year. The agency has previously been offering limited services due to a staffing gap.
Keeping Americans in Switzerland and Liechtenstein safe and informed is the Embassy’s highest priority. Our Embassy and Consular Agencies in Geneva and Zurich assist thousands of American citizens; last year alone, they issued over 8,000 passports. The Consular Agencies do not process visas to travel to the United States; the U.S. Embassy in Bern is responsible for all travel facilitation for non-U.S. citizens.
The U.S. Consular Agency in Geneva is located at Rue François Versonnex 7, 1207 Geneva. Services are provided by appointment only. Opening hours and appointment request forms are available here.
