Update on Swiss Quarantine Restrictions for U.S. Travelers

The U.S. Department of State has no greater responsibility than the safety and security of U.S. citizens overseas. We are committed to proactively advising U.S. citizens  about travel amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, including the most up-to-date information about travel restrictions imposed by the Swiss government or the U.S. government.

As of April 5, per the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health, travelers from the United States will not be required to quarantine upon arrival in Switzerland.  All other entry and travel restrictions to Switzerland still apply.   For more information on COVID-19 related restrictions for those seeking to enter Switzerland, please visit: https://www.sem.admin.ch/sem/en/home/sem/aktuell/faq-einreiseverweigerung.html#-1876973079

The Department of State and CDC advises U.S. citizens to avoid all international travel if possible due to the global impact of COVID-19.  Our ability to provide consular and other services may be hindered by local health conditions.

At this time, due to both Swiss and U.S. government restrictions, we can only offer limited services and limited appointments  or U.S. citizens with urgent and critical need for travel at the U.S. Embassy in Bern, the Consular Agency in Geneva, and the Consular Agency in Zurich.  Please visit https://ch.usembassy.gov/ for more information on available services and appointment availability.
