Ambassador LeVine visited the iconic Swiss Army Knife manufacturer Victorinox in the Swiss Valley of Ibach, also known as “knife valley.” Victorinox CEO Carl Elsener (great grandson of the company’s founder Karl Elsener) greeted Ambassador LeVine and took her on a tour of the company’s manufacturing facility.
Having started out as a cutlery workshop 130 years ago, Victorinox’s iconic knives gained enormous popularity in the United States as G.I.s returning from the Second World War introduced the inventive, high-quality knives to friends and family. Today, Victorinox not only manufactures high-quality knives, but also timepieces, travel gear, fashion and fragrances, all of which embody typical Swiss values of innovation, functionality and high quality.
